Onboard recorder manufacturer Tripmaster Corp. has released a modem that adds both WiFi local area wireless and GPRS cellular-based wide area wireless data communications to its devices.

The new wireless modem is part of Tripmaster's Ranger product line, which includes integrated software tools for automating communications with fleet vehicles.

The company has also released Enterprise, a new server application that allows existing Tripmaster users to access reports from multiple locations. It can also integrate vehicle data with existing back office applications and third-party information systems, according to the company.

Features for Enterprise include a fleet status dashboard for fast access to key operational data and support for SQL Server, Oracle and OpenSource databases.
