A new offering from Qualcomm Inc. will integrate data from the Federal Motor Carriers Admin’s CSA Safety Measurement Systems (SMS) with existing Qualcomm data, including hours-of-service violations, critical event reporting, and performance monitoring, to help fleets comply with the new regulation. The basic version of CSA Safety Performance Service is available now, with a deluxe version to be released in the coming weeks.

“We are committed to helping customers improve the safety and regulatory compliance of their fleets,” said Norm Ellis, vp of sales, services & marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. “By bringing the CSA Safety Performance Service to market, we are providing fleets with a new way to proactively manage compliance with critical and complex new regulations.

“Qualcomm is leveraging our expertise and experience with thousands of customers with varied operational profiles to bring something uniquely comprehensive and valuable to the market,” he added.

The system will provide fleets with a comprehensive analysis of driver and fleet-specific data, Qualcomm said. Fleets will be able to identify drivers who are most vulnerable to unsafe driving and CSA violations, allowing for proactive intervention by safety managers.

Users of CSA Safety Performance Service will have access to a fleet’s performance across FMCSA’s seven BASICs, which are the agency’s tools used to identify potential problem areas, as well as driver-coaching scripts, and detailed tracking of the remediation process.
