Internet-hosted dispatch system Aljex TIN has added a non-map view of loads and assignments to accommodate the small screens on Blackberries, iPhones, netbooks and other 3G wireless devices. (See more Aljex news from Fleet Owner.)
Created for freight brokers, 3rd-party logistics providers, and other transportation companies, Aljex TIN is a visually based system that overlays load information on map views, according to developer Aljex Software.
“In map view users can see the locations of loads across the continent, and click on the map locations for dispatch. However, the map uses almost half of the display, which is fine on a PC, but more and more users are using a netbook or small cell phone screen,” said Aljex president Tom Heine. “Non-map view loads faster and makes it easier to read shipment information that’s presented spreadsheet-style. Users can quickly switch back to map view if they want to see where their loads are.”
Other updates for the hosted dispatch system include mouse-over information display for pro numbers and other data, and new support options including email requests.
