A new Web-based tool from Schneider Logistics allows pre-qualified carriers to view available shipper transportation requirements and bid on individual or packages of lanes. BidSmart lets carriers enter rates and service capabilities for their bids and analyze bid scenarios as they develop lane offerings.
“Shippers benefit from improved service and capability commitments at optimal pricing, while carriers can increase volume commitments on the lanes they service,” says Dave Cobb, GM for Schneider Logistics' Transportation Advisory Service.
Developed by Swedish software provider Trade Extensions, BidSmart replaces Schneider's current collaborative transportation procurement system, Sumit CVA.
