The integration of Cadec Global’s Mobius TTS fleet management system with Procuro PIMM will provide food distributors with a complete cold-chain management service to track and validate product temperatures, Cadec said.
According to the company, fleet management vendors will now be able to monitor both tethered and untethered trailers in real time, giving users the capability to view data on their PIMM interface while automatically receiving alerts when temperatures vary from expected levels.
Cadec’s Mobius TempTracker module gathers real-time temperature data from trailers using wireless sensor technology, while Procuro’s Cold Chain Management System tracks temperatures at supplier sites, on transit trailers, within distribution centers, and at the restaurant level, Cadec said.
"If transporters don't maintain consistently cool temperatures during the entire chain – from the warehouse through transport to the store – that food is going to have a shorter shelf life once it reaches its destination,” said Vincent P. Gordon, chairman & CEO of Procuro. "This joint Cadec/Procuro solution can have a large impact on the financial success of distributors, transporters and retailers.”
