A new website --GR8FR8.com (pronounced “great freight”)-- allows carriers seeking freight to connect directly with shippers without the need for intermediaries, according to the site’s operator.

The website, GR8FR8.com, allows for free-market quoting, real-time communication between parties, direct-tendering, online booking, TMS functionality and executive-level reporting, the company said.

“GR8FR8 doesn’t use pre-loaded negotiated rates,” said vp of operations Paul Laidler. “Often those are inflated and always include a brokerage fee. What is unique about GR8FR8.com is that for a low, flat rate, shippers can get the best pricing available from carriers who are looking for new business.

“Since GR8FR8.com is not an auction site,” he added, “carriers can quote higher or lower using the FR8mart application, and communicate with shippers using live, private communication.”

According to the company, the site is a cloud-based platform that allows shippers to post shipments for bidding. It also provides tracking capabilities over the web. Shippers can also direct-tender shipments to their preferred carriers to enjoy the integrated TMS functionality within the site, the firm added.
