A new management system provides an additional tool to help fleets stay in compliance with CSA. The Inspection Management System (IMS) from Vigillo tracks and manages roadside inspection data, offering fleet managers an additional level of detail to ensure compliance.
Schneider National is the first fleet to utilize the product, which is now available in general release.

IMS is a web-based application that allows fleets to enter or upload their master lists of drivers and vehicles and then enter or upload inspections and violations as drivers report them. These master lists are then compared to inspection reports automatically captured daily from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Vigillo said.
Using the data, IMS will look for mismatched data, missing or erroneous data on inspections, violations, drivers and vehicles, and highlights the discrepancies for correction in Vigillo Scorecard Reports. The corrected data can also be submitted to FMCSA’s DataQ’s system.
Any FMCSA inspection data assigned to a carrier with incorrect DOT, VIN, driver CDL, violations, dates and more will be instantly highlighted and tagged for follow-up.
According to Vigillo, other benefits of the system include enhanced monitoring and tracking of inspections throughout all departments; timely response to all inspection related issues; it ensures all inspections are certified and returned to the states in a timely manner; status tracking of all inspections and violations; and reporting and analytics on missing inspections, inspections by state, and inspections by status to give a 360 deg. view of all inspection/violation activity.
