ALK Technologies has taken its popular PC*Miler software a step further by incorporating Internet availability for customers who need instant mileage for rate calculation or truck-specific driving directions and maps. The new service can be accessedon any computer connected to the Internet.

PC*Miler|Web replaces ALK’s web service, eMiler.com, with street-level upgrades plus hazardous materials routing and routes for an unlimited number of stops. Also available are additional reports and mapping functionality. Another change from eMiler.com is the pricing schedule.

The new service is based on a monthly subscription rather than eMiler’s per-route charges, and offers three subscription packages, Lite, Standard and Premium.

Lite provides point-to-point mileage and routing to enbale shippers, carriers and brokers to rate shipments. Mileage confirmation on shipments rated by others is also available. Lite also offers truck-specific routing for a single shipment or load with one stop-off and can generate customized maps, trip distance reports and detailed driving directions.

The Standard version adds more options, including a national network and toll-discouraged routing as well as multi-stop route optimization. Premium adds ALK’s street-level database for dock-to-dock mapping and directions plus routing for hazardous materials, truck-specific toll costs and more.

ALK is currently offering a free 48-hour trial of the software. For more information, including access to the trial version, visit www.pcmiler.com/web.
