A new service from FleetRisk Advisors combines actual operating data collected by telematics systems with “predictive modeling and decision enabling software” from Valen Technologies to help fleets identify high-risk situations and reduce accidents and claims. The Valen software is currently used by insurance underwriters to make risk assessments and pricing recommendations.

The service starts with a detailed analysis of fleet driver records, accident histories, maintenance records and other general operating information. The onboard telematics data from individual vehicles is then analyzed by the Valen system to pinpoint “patterns of risks” and make safety recommendations by specific driver, according to Dax Craig, CEO of Valen.
