Two extended-life battery packs for the MiniTracker MT-100 portable GPS tracking system will deliver up to 10 days of power without recharging, according to GeoSentry Inc. The small, portable system is designed to provide real-time location information for high-value cargo and other security applications.

The batteries use Lithium-Ion technology, with the BP-240 providing up to 240 hrs. of service depending on location-reporting intervals, and the smaller BP-75 offering up to 75 hrs. of power. Both include an AC charger.

The MiniTracker uses the GSM cellular network for its wireless communications and a web-based hosted application for displaying position updates.
