PHOENIX. Qualcomm Inc. and RAIR Technologies, LLC chose the ATA annual conference under way here this week to unveil a collaboration intended to enhance the value of Qualcomm Hours of Service (HOS) by offering RAIR auditing and analysis of Qualcomm HOS data. The combination of Qualcomm’s Hours of Service and RAIR’s auditing/analysis services is designed to provide customers a complete and easy-to-use solution for managing and auditing driver logs, whether created electronically or on paper.

With this enhanced Hours of Service compliance offering, fleets can send their paper logs to RAIR, which scans and provides them back to the fleet with additional electronic data that can be audited and compared to Qualcomm’s positioning data to help ensure comprehensive hours of service compliance reporting.

Leveraging both companies’ expertise, even paper log customers can benefit from the visibility, auditing and reporting capability associated with electronic logs, the companies note. RAIR can also process DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) information and support driver notification for violations.

“Our collaboration with RAIR, a leader in managing HOS compliance with paper or EOBR-generated logs, delivers enhanced value and options to our Hours of Service customers,” said Norm Ellis, vp of sales, services & marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. “With safety and compliance top of mind for fleets of all sizes, this innovative solution helps assure visibility to accurate and complete information regarding driver hours of service.”

“RAIR is delighted to have been chosen by Qualcomm to provide our best-in-class log auditing services to complement Qualcomm’s Hours of Service,” JJ Singh, president & CEO of RAIR, said. “Our ability to work with and comprehensively audit paper logs, as well as logs generated by EOBRs, or any combination of the two, provides flexibility to carriers that helps make a seamless transition from paper logs to e-logs when they install EOBRs.”

Hours of Service violations are incorporated under the Fatigued Driving BASIC of CSA, one of the areas that are a particular concern for fleets. According to a RAIR report issued earlier this year, Fatigued Driving is now the number one risk factor for fleets of all sizes.
