GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services (www.gefleet.com) has announced adding point-of-interest (POI) information and geofencing functionality to its Telematics product. POI in combination with geofence technology provides precise monitoring of a vehicle's location, records all entry and exit of vehicles from predetermined boundaries and promotes notification when these events occur, the company says.

In addition, GE's telematics servoce allows fleets to upload POI information, such as a customer's list of important addresses. Using that data, GE can report on how frequently vehicles stopped at a POI, how long the vehicle stayed there and if the visit took place during or after working hours.

Customers have access to comprehensive Telematics reporting through both my.Dashboard and my.Reports, GE's web-based reporting applications.
