LAS VEGAS. PeopleNet reported here at the the Truckload Carriers Assn. meeting that users of its integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems outperform industry averages in several key areas.

“These results simply confirm feedback we’ve been receiving from our customers for years,” said CEO Ron Konezny. “In addition to our onboard computers, PeopleNet’s applications for electronically monitoring driver hours of service (eDriver Logs) and engine and driver performance (PerformX) further improve safety results.”

PeopleNet compared their customers’ performance against the national average as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Motor Carrier Management Information System.

According to the company, fleets with eDriver Logs deployed in 75% or more of their company vehicles reported a 2.3% driver out of service rate, a 12.7% vehicle out of service rate, and a 6.3% driver enforcement rate. That compares to 6.9%, 22.6% and 17.9%, respectively, for the industry as a whole.
