Sars Corp. has introduced the RoadTrac fleet tracking service, which uses the integrated satellite and land-based GPRS SureLinx wireless terminal from SkyWave Mobile Communications.

“This solution combines data from GPRS and satellite networks to give customers a very low total cost of ownership while ensuring constant contact with an asset even when it's out of GPRS range,” says Clayton Shelver, CEO of Sars.

The RoadTrac system allows customers to monitor vehicles through a customizable map-based interface on a standard Web browser, giving real-time business intelligence, the company says. According to Sars, it offers low power consumption and dependable coverage across both urban and rural locations.
