Xata Corp. is integrating ZoomSafer software into its own products, including Xata Turnpike, to improve safety and compliance with mobile phone policies. Xata will also serve as a reseller of FleetSafer Mobile and FleetSafer Vision.

“Distracted driving doesn’t need to be a growing problem,” said Christian Schenk, vice president, product marketing, Xata. “Xata commits to doing all we can to keep drivers safe and in compliance, which is why we’re excited to be partnering with ZoomSafer.”

FleetSafer Mobile runs alongside Turnpike on mobile and smartphones. Turnpike runs on consumer-grade and ruggedized mobile phones without driver interaction. By using the integrated solution, drivers will be prevented from using third-party applications such as texting when the vehicle is in motion.

“With the addition of FleetSafer, Xata customers of any size can proactively enforce safe driving policies, which, in turn, will enable the fleets to reduce the number of crashes and save money,” said Matt Howard, founder & CEO, ZoomSafer.

FleetSafer Vision is a software reporting tool that uses telematics data in combination with phone records and email services to measure and report at-risk driver behavior to fleet managers, Xata officials said.
