Mobile XpressTrax, the GPS and driver communication application from PCS Software, is now available on the Apple iPhone, the company has announced. XpressTrax uses the phone’s GPS technology to deliver real-time location to PCS’ Express Transportation Management Systems.

Drivers can use the phone to receive and send electronic communications, including check calls and load status updates.

Drivers can also use the system to have consignees sign an electronic delivery receipt, which is transmitted to PCS’ document imaging system for invoicing. Shippers can take advantage of the system by receiving automatic email updates based on their freight tracking preferences.

Google Maps, weather, and traffic updates are also available, as is an electronic driver’s logbook. All duty status changes are verified with the GPS and drivers can be notified when they are in violation of hours-of-service rules. Dispatchers will also be able to see driver’s HOS status.
