Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has posted on its website a podcast about the incorporation of BlueTec technology into its Detroit Diesel engines.

According to the company, the new technology provides cleaner emissions while improving fuel economy. During the podcast, DTNA president & CEO Chris Patterson discusses the benefits of BlueTec as the company prepares for 2010 regulations.

BlueTec, which DTNA said shows a 3 to 5% improvement in fuel economy, will be incorporated into Detroit Diesel’s recently-introduced DD15 engines and its future DD13 and DD16 models.

“BlueTec delivers exactly what it is supposed to: cleaner emissions, improved economics and reliable performance in the most extreme environments,” said Mike Delaney, DTNA senior vp of marketing. “In an economy where fuel economy is increasingly critical, it is the ultimate solution."
