PHH Arval is launching a “dashboard” fleet management tool powered by PHH Onboard, the company’s telematics service.

PHH’s fleet dashboard provides at-a-glance information via the internet that integrates data collected from in-vehicle telematics devices with fleet information contained in PHH Arval’s data warehouse. This allows fleet clients to develop proactive policies in real time to help improve driver safety, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance operational performance, the company said.

For example, to help improve fuel performance, engine idle time and miles per gallon (MPG) performance can be viewed side-by-side to see the impact on the fleet’s bottom line from various approaches.

Clients can also use the dashboard to identify peak vehicle usage periods and find out if vehicles are driven after hours or during unauthorized times, which impacts not just fuel consumption but also driver safety, the company noted.
