Trailer tracker IDs tractors

Using the power line communications (PLC) found on newer trailers, Terion's FleetView trailer tracking system can now identify tractors as they pick up trailers and send reports to dispatchers with tractor and fleet identification codes. The new tractor ID function can be used by fleets to ensure proper tractor and trailer matches, and to alert dispatch if an unidentified tractor is hooked to a trailer.

It can also help control misuse of trailers by other carriers or shippers and simplify trailer data entry by drivers, according to Terion.

The new tractor ID function can be downloaded over the air to existing FleetView units and reporting conditions can be configured by fleets.
