Maximus has announced it will be working with the city of Austin, TX, to implement a fleet management software upgrade, adding the company's FuelFocus automated fueling system (AFS) to the city's fleet operations. In addition, the city upgraded the FleetFocus software to a browser-based version to utilize wireless technology and provide easy access beyond Austin's firewall, the company said. The city has over 10,000 employees, including 180 people working on its fleet of 4,800 vehicles and rolling stock.

South Carolina has added PrePass, installing it at Anderson Northbound on I-85. PrePass, a voluntary system that allows carriers to comply with state regs without stopping at weigh stations, is now operational at 280 sites in 28 states and used by nearly 450,000 trucks.
