A new plug-and-play device from Mentor Engineering can give fleets a quick, affordable way to implement vehicle tracking and baseline telematics. The ME10 offers automatic vehicle location using an integrated GSM model and GPS.

The device will provide real-time tracking. It will also plug into a vehicle’s OBDII port to monitor items such as mileage and fuel usage.

“This device is essentially plug-and-play,” said Shubh Sidhu, enterprise product manager. “Within minutes a fleet manager can have GPS tracking enabled on a vehicle without the headaches of a several hour installation or needing to take a vehicle out of service.

“Also,” Sidhu added, “it’s a great option for temporary workers or leased vehicles as there is zero installation impact on the vehicle.”
