Online tractor-trailer driver training materials for instructors

Feb. 24, 2012

Instructors in need of the latest training materials for tractor-trailer training can find that information in the new online Tractor-Trailer Driver Training – School Edition from J.J. Keller & Associates.

Based on the FHWA Model Curriculum and following the Professional Truck Driver Institute’s (PTDI) curriculum standards, the site provides resources for instructors to enhance their curriculum and provide long-distance learning opportunities for students.

“The online Tractor-Trailer Driver Training — School Edition offers flexibility to meet the needs of distance learners or situations when a student misses a class,” said Joel Landsverk, product development specialist. “Schools will also be able to expand course content and increase credits, so more students will qualify for government funding (financial aid).”

A subscription to the site offers a full complement of training resources designed to follow all 33 chapters of J. J. Keller’s Tractor-Trailer Driver Training Manual. Each chapter includes full-bodied training resources, including:

• Overview and objectives

• Instructor's guide

• Student manual

• PowerPoint presentations

• Quizzes

• Related documents, charts, images and clip art

• J. J. Keller's award-winning videos (over 80 transportation safety titles available)

• Online interactive training courses (available for separate purchase)

Streaming, video-based training allows instructors to use the content in the classroom or to conduct a long-distance class. Instructors can download the content for use on their own Learning Management System (LMS). Videos and online interactive training courses cannot be downloaded, however.

Instructor training documents can also be uploaded into the system, which also tracks students’ progress.

A free 30-day trial is available by calling 800-327-6868, ext. 8523 and referencing promo code 53583.
