• In-cab video makers agree to settlement

    July 16, 2012

A patent infringement lawsuit initiated last year by DriveCam Inc. against rival SmartDrive Systems has been settled, according to the two companies.

Both firms agreed to resolve all outstanding patent litigation and trade secret claims between the two of them, while also cross-licensing their respective technology patents.

DriveCam CEO Brandon Nixon added that while all other terms of the settlement will remain confidential, the deal allows “each party to serve their client’s needs without any legal conflict interfering with a client’s choice of the best product and services to meet its needs.”
