Magellan has released its latest RoadMate GPS unit with an extra-large display and hands-free communication this week. The RoadMate Commercial 9261T-LM GPS also offers customizable truck-specific routing.

The unit comes pre-programmed with all of the TravelCenters of America (TA) and Petro travel service locations in the U.S. with detailed information including truck service, restaurants, showers, WiFi, ATMs and other services offered by TA and Petro.
“We are pleased to partner with TA and Petro to give professional drivers such a robust navigation solution to best fit their unique driving conditions on U.S. roadways,” said Stig Pedersen, associate vice president of product management for Magellan. “The Magellan RoadMate Commercial series of GPS navigators is designed to make professional drivers’ jobs safer and less stressful before and during their trips.”

Vehicle profile data such as height, width, length, weight and Hazmat restrictions can be entered to create the most efficient truck-specific routing available. Multi-destination routing allows drivers to plan their stops and optimize routes.

On-the-road navigation is displayed on the 7-in. high-definition touch display and also delivered via Spoken Street Name guidance. An “information dashboard” provides information such as truck speed limit warnings and real-time traffic updates. Highway Lane Assist shows realistic highway signs and guides truck drivers towards the correct lane when approaching complex highway interchanges and exits.

The Magellan RoadMate Commercial 9261T-LM GPS includes free downloadable lifetime map updates to keep the pre-loaded maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico up-to-date, and free lifetime traffic alerts are sent directly to the GPS to monitor real-time traffic conditions.

An A/V input allows connection to external devices such as the Magellan Wireless Back-up Camera or a DVD player.
