Hazardous materials carrier implements Transflo Express

Nov. 14, 2012

A solution designed to expedite payroll and billing processes by allowing drivers to hand deliver documents to a trained cashier at one of over 900 truck stops across the country has been implemented by a leading hazardous materials carrier. Tri-State Motor Transit Co. is now using the Transflo Express truck stop scanning solution from Pegasus TransTech, which allows a cashier to scan a document for immediate transfer to the carrier’s back office.

“We wanted to offer Transflo Express to our drivers,” said Felicia Joines, IT director for Tri-State. “We expect it to speed driver payment and our billing process to reduce days-sales-outstanding.”

Based in Joplin, MO, Tri-State began as a carrier moving mining explosives in 1929, expanding into munitions by 1935. Today, with terminals throughout the country, the company specializes in hauling for the U.S. Dept. of Defense and Dept. of Energy. The carrier has handled everything from nuclear material to rocket engines to small air-bag explosive units for automobile manufacturers.

According to Pegasus TransTech, drivers can scan documents themselves at convenient kiosks at many truck stops if they prefer.

“We’re pleased that a well-established carrier like Tri-State Motor Transit has implemented Transflo Express,” said Bob Helms, chairman & CEO of Pegasus TransTech. “We look forward to a long and mutually profitable relationship.”
