Nevada adopts bypass inspection service

Jan. 7, 2013

Nevada has become the 15th state to adopt the use of the Drivewyze PreClear bypass service. PreClear uses tablets, smartphones and select electronic onboard recorder (EOBR) devices to provide commercial vehicles with inspection site bypass.

There are 11 locations in Nevada now using the system.

“Having Drivewyze PreClear in Nevada means we are opening up the west in the United States to our bypass service,” said Brian Heath, president of Drivewyze. “Drivewyze PreClear is now active in 15 states and our plan is to keep growing across America by offering a safe, easy and affordable way to get bypass services to as many commercial fleets in as many locations as possible.”

PreClear utilizes cellular networks and the Internet to enable devices with transponder-like functionality, the company said.

Launched in early September 2012, Drivewyze PreClear provides a safe and secure automated bypass solution for both permanent sites and mobile inspection sites, extending bypass services to both high volume and local, low-volume and remote weigh stations and ports of entry.

It is being offered in Nevada to drivers and fleets starting at $12.99 per month for interstate service.

Drivewyze PreClear is currently in Connecticut, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia and now Nevada. Drivewyze PreClear also offers intrastate billing options in select states.
