R:COM communications system approved for use with Carrier Transicold units

March 1, 2013

Blue Tree Systems announced that its R:COM temperature management system has been approved for use with Carrier Transicold refrigeration units. Specifically, both one-way and two-way communications through R:COM can be used with all DataTrak-equipped systems.

The R:COM system can connect to and remote control all Carrier single and multi-temp truck and trailer refrigeration units using microprocessor control systems dating to 1996.

“We have been providing our industry leading R:COM temperature management system for over 12 years in both Europe and the US and we are delighted that we can now offer our robust advanced remote control reefer functionality to our U.S. customers for their Carrier Transicold units,” said Charlie Cahill, CEO of Blue Tree Systems. “Carrier customers will now have improved capability to control their reefer operations and safeguard their temperature sensitive cargos.

Remote-control functionality of the units allows users to change set-points, clear alarm codes, perform pre-trips and much more. This functionality is in addition to the advanced temperature monitoring and recording functionality that Blue Tree Systems already provides for Carrier refrigeration units and other competitive systems.

“These advanced features combined with our several years of experience in providing temperature management systems that comply with strict legislation in Europe is driving our U.S. sales exponentially as customers prepare their businesses for impending U.S. food safety legislation, and for ever increasing customer demands for proof of load integrity and visibility to in-transit temperatures,” said Cahill.

R:COM allows the user to quickly and easily generate temperature reports in graph or tabular format that are indisputable and can be emailed directly to the end customer in seconds as accurate proof of in-transit temperatures, Blue Tree said.
