Omnitracs passes two milestones

Omnitracs, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qualcomm, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The company also announced it now has 200,000 users of its hours-of-service application.

Established in 1988 by Qualcomm, the company signed its first customer, Schneider National, later that year.

Omnitracs also said it now has more than 200,000 of its hour-of-service (HOS) application. The application provides real-time driver log reporting.  It is web-based, allowing it to be updated rapidly over-the-air. Additionally, the intuitive user interface minimized the amount of driver training required for them to transition to the Omnitracs HOS application, enabling fleets to realize continued compliance, productivity, fuel efficiency, and customer service efficiency, Omnitracs said.

Omnitracs’ HOS application features up-to-date availability calculation based on automatic driving time detection using vehicle sensor data, minimizing driver interaction and data entry. It also provides near real-time notifications to drivers and dispatch of impending or actual violations to help avoid or address infractions. Omnitracs’ web interface seamlessly presents driver status, availability and reports for improved fleet management and safety audits.
