Carrier portal offers more insight into safety, inspection data

Oct. 25, 2013

ORLANDO, FL. HELP Inc. has launched a new carrier portal that provides fleets a one-stop access point to its current safety data, inspection activity and PrePass reports. The PrePass Carrier Portal is provided at no additional cost to customers.

The announcement was made this week at the American Trucking Assns. Management Conference & Exhibition here in Orlando.

“The PrePass Carrier Portal provides easy and convenient access to everything the carrier may want to know before the load is dispatched,” said Karen Rasmussen, president and CEO of HELP Inc., the public-private partnership that provides PrePass and other safety and efficiency services.  “The portal makes it simple for carriers to identify outstanding issues and fix them before the truck hits the road. As a value-added offering to all PrePass customers, this carrier portal represents our commitment to continually provide motor carriers with innovations that support safety and efficiency.”

Users can electronically screen vehicles before every trip, viewing the same data available to enforcement officials.  From the portal, carriers can access their company’s SAFER Vehicle Screening Assessment, which includes Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICS), ISS Score, IRP, UCR and IFTA credentials and out-of-service rates for driver and vehicle.

The portal also allows carriers to receive notifications whenever a new inspection report is available.  These “push notifications” provide inspection details such as location, inspection level and a view of the inspection data by vehicle or driver. In addition, the system can flag vehicles with repeated inspection violations, which may indicate maintenance issues.
