CellSentry releases phone app to stop texting while driving
Jan. 15, 2014
A new phone app from CellSentry and Greenhill Enterprises uses GPS and SMS technologies to block sending and receiving of text messages and certain calls when the phone is moving.
The app automatically initiates when movement is detected and will send return messages to any incoming texts indicating that the user is traveling and cannot receive their message. The app features an “opt out” command that allows the user to override the app with an authorization code, allowing fleet managers to maintain control of when the app is deactivated.
There is also a 911 shortcut and a “white list” that allows for up to five numbers to be pre-programmed into the app to always be allowed through.
The app is compatible with both IPhone and Android software and provides for customization of the auto reply message.
The CellSentry app is now available at iTunes, Google Play or at www.cellsentry.net.
