ARI acquires online driver training company

Feb. 17, 2014

Global fleet services provider ARI has acquired Drivefleet, a supplier of online driver training products and services.

“We’re incredibly pleased to have Drivefleet join the ARI family,” said ARI President Carl A. Ortell. “Their innovative suite of products and proven methodology of engaging and challenging drivers is unique within the marketplace and I think our clients are going to find enhanced value as a result of this acquisition.”

Drivefleet offers a comprehensive catalogue of web-based driver training courses that engage users in an interactive, two-way dialogue to promote knowledge retention and encourage more thoughtful, proactive drivers – which, in turn, leads to safer drivers as well, ARI said.

Modules are convenient and easy to access, as well as intuitive to use, and offer users the opportunity to apply the lessons learned to “real-world” driving situations. Some newer modules use high definition computer generated imagery to simulate possible driving challenges. Courses range from defensive driving practices and preventing distracted driving to eco-driving techniques, and are available for every kind of fleet, from cars and vans to light and medium duty trucks.

With this acquisition, ARI said Drivefleet’s online courses will be integrated with its systems to provide clients with a seamless safety solution.
