Landstar to offer BESTPASS transponders to drivers

March 12, 2014

Landstar System is offering BESTPASS transponders to its BCOs (independent contractors).

Landstar, an owner-operator based carrier, is offering the toll management system at a discount. In turn, BESTPASS will make a $5 donation to the BCO Benevolence Fund for each BCO who participates in the program.

The BCO Benevolence Fund is an independent public charity founded by Landstar in 2005 to help Landstar BCOs and their immediate families who are suffering from financial hardship.

“As we expand our service area across the United States, we are looking to engage with companies like Landstar who share similar vision and values,” said BESTPASS president and COO, John Andrews. “Helping truckers save money on tolls is our business and giving back to our community is embraced at all levels of our organization.”

“The BESTPASS/Landstar agreement is a win-win for our BCOs and their families,” said Henry Gerkens, Landstar chairman & CEO. “The savings on tolls is immediate and the BCO Benevolence Fund has the potential to receive thousands of dollars per year in contributions from BESTPASS.  The financial contributions will go a long way to helping those in need of assistance.”
