Sygic has introduced its truck navigation product to North America. Sygic Truck Navigation is now available on Google Play at a 30% price discount for the summer.
Sygic Truck Navigation features 3Dmaps, accurate searching and precise route computing, the company said. It uses specially defined maps with truck-specific features that automatically avoid roads not suitable for trucks or specific cargoes. Drivers can choose the type of vehicle and utilize specialized features like points of interest, parking places, and gas stations, or avoid roads not suitable for trucks, buses or RVs.
“Our goal was to deliver a specialized navigation solution to the huge community of RVers and bus drivers. Users of our application appreciate new features aimed especially at them. We believe that thanks to our application, their vacations with family and friends will be safer and more comfortable,’’ said Michal Stencl, CEO.
Sygic Truck Navigation operates fully offline. An internet connection is only necessary during the initial installation and activation of the software, for installing maps and updates, and for optional add-on services such as live traffic information and crowd-sourced police trap alerts.
Additional features of the system include:
- Maps stored on device
- SDK API interface for integration with 3rd party apps
- Free map updates for 3 years
- Truck/RV and bus parking and gas stations as POI
- Turn-by-turn voice instructions
- Spoken street names
- Waypoints for multiple places of loading/unloading

- Last mile routing - If the destination is not reachable with the user’s vehicle, the route is computed to the closest reachable point
- Traffic patterns - Routes are computed according to the time of day and the delays that occur at peak hours
- Time restrictions - Users can navigate on certain roads only when they are open for deliveries
