Eaton’s Devito tapped for tech leadership post

Gerard Devito has been named vice president, Technology of Eaton’s Vehicle Group. He will be based in Galesburg, MI, and will report to Ken Davis, president, Eaton Vehicle Group, and functionally to Jeff Lowinger, senior vice president & chief technology officer, Industrial Sector.

DeVito will be responsible for leading and directing all engineering activities for the Vehicle Group “to ensure that financial, growth, productivity and technology objectives are met,” said Eaton.

“Gerard’s technical and engineering experience with Eaton will serve the Vehicle Group business well in his new role,” said Davis. “As we work to develop and commercialize new technologies to help our customers solve their most challenging issues, Gerard is ideally suited to lead the teams that will deliver our next generation of breakthrough technologies.”

DeVito began his career at Eaton 27 years ago. He most recently served as director, Next Generation Transmissions, North America Truck.  Previously, he was director, Engineering for the company’s Hybrid business.

He holds a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University.
