FetchDesk has announced the launch of its new software.
FetchDesk has announced the launch of its new software. According to the company, FetchDesk is designed using a proprietary, cloud-based platform that streamlines communications between 10 million shippers, brokers and carriers. “The all-new mobile-friendly software allows shippers to identify and self-broker qualified, accredited trucks and gives carriers the ability to secure backhaul freight up to eight days in advance,” according to FetchDesk.Shippers, brokers and carriers pay a $70 annual subscription fee for access to the software using their computer or mobile device. FetchDesk then provides shippers with future carriers who match their loading needs.“Unlike traditional load boards, FetchDesk expands networks for accredited, subscribed carriers far beyond a traditional load board’s limited reach,” the company said. “In addition, the software removes the shippers’ risk of revealing sensitive load information online by keeping trucking transportation requests confidential.”FetchDesk noted it also saves carriers money by eliminating broker commission and reducing deadhead mileage, and simplifies the booking process for shippers and brokers by providing the option to contact carriers directly to negotiate contract terms.“Using this software to locate qualified backhauling carriers en route to their freight’s intended destination, shippers now have a better way to book transportation,” said David Dwinell, CEO. “This makes the finding and contracting process for freight significantly easier and more efficient for shippers and carriers by enabling them to self-broker.”Dwinell added that FetchDesk will contribute to a significant reduction in deadhead fuel waste. “It’s a win-win situation for both the trucking industry and the environment,” he said. “We’re truly improving the freight transportation industry by opening the trucking marketplace to millions of shippers and carriers with an innovative, easy-to-navigate self-brokering software,” said Steve Perez, CTO.
