Fleetio has added software that uses vehicle identification numbers to pull vehicle details and other records when performing maintenance
Fleetio has launched a vehicle identification number (VIN) decoding feature that allows users to automatically pull important vehicle details and specifications into vehicle records within Fleetio.
“With more information about fleet vehicles easily accessible, Fleetio users can make more informed decisions regarding fleet operations,” the company said.
To help fleet managers specify the correct vehicles and even replace assets as their fleets grow in size, the VIN decoding feature expedites the process of gathering and inputting vehicle information, according to Fleetio. Instead of inputting numerous data points from key details like make, model, trim and MSRP to performance specs like towing capacity and EPA, users can click one button to instantly populate all data fields for light to heavy duty vehicles.
“Fleetio’s VIN decoding feature is a huge time saver for our team” said Jon Leonard, vice president of Leonard Bus Sales. “With one click, we can store and access in-depth vehicle details and specifications that we wouldn’t normally log due to time constraints.”
