Cargomatic says it is bringing its local trucking revolution to Northern California. After several months of beta testing, the company has officially launched service in the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and beyond.“The San Francisco Bay Area is the heart of technological innovation, and also an enormous transportation hub, so bringing Cargomatic here was a natural fit,” says Jonathan Kessler, co-founder and CEO. “We see tremendous opportunity in serving Northern California and are excited to get to work.”Cargomatic’s web and mobile apps connect shippers to nearby local truckers who have available freight capacity. Cargomatic has already been embraced by hundreds of businesses in the country’s two largest metro regions – Southern California and New York City – where service was launched in January 2014 and August 2015, respectively. “For same day delivery service, you simply can’t beat Cargomatic,” says Michael Schroeder, warehouse manager of PlanToys Inc., a manufacturer of sustainable toys. PlanToys has dispatched dozens of deliveries with Cargomatic in recent months from its Union City, CA, warehouse and has reported 50% faster delivery times, the company said.“The stores that buy our toys don’t expect same-day service. But since we started using Cargomatic we are able to deliver just that. Our customers love the speed, and I love the fact that I can track the shipment’s movement every step of the way,” says Schroeder.
