Aljex Software CEO Tom Heine announced that Tim Bickmore has joined the company as vice president of corporate strategy. “Tim is one of the top people in transportation technology today,” Heine said. “His prior experience running the largest technology company in our field is invaluable. He understands what Aljex has achieved in recent years as well as what we're poised to accomplish going forward. His work with Aljex will benefit all our clients, current and future."According to the company, among other C-level positions, Tim formerly served as president of DAT Solutions, a unit of Roper Industries. He was also president of Getloaded. Starting his career in railroad operations, Bickmore transitioned to technology implementation for transportation, and then moved to Internet-based products primarily for trucking, Aljex said. He has served as a director on a number of corporate boards.Bickmore's appointment follows a year of growth in which Aljex opened a software development office in Boulder, CO, and hired a staff of talented programmers to augment its existing group in New Jersey, the company added.“I am impressed with the uniqueness of the Saas (Software as a Service) TMS model at Aljex,” Bickmore said. “It's easy to use, quickly implemented, and has a significantly lower price point of entry."Aljex uses what it calls “Crowd Improvement” to describe how the company adds customer requested refinements to its hosted software. These additions then become available to all Aljex users."Aljex’s already robust product is under continuous improvement so we deliver new features and functions on a regular basis,” Heine said. “This insures that our core Broker TMS (Transportation Management Software) product and our Carrier TMS, LTL (Less than Truckload) TMS, and Intermodal TMS modules are always current and relevant in the fast changing Transportation marketplace.”"We have the best technology team in the industry. As a hosted service, we have an uptime record better than anyone else in this business -- or virtually any business. We have the strongest security, the most redundancy, and by far the most responsive support team anywhere," Heine added.Bickmore will be based at Aljex's technology center in Boulder.
