    Vnomics announced that vice president of engineering Lloyd Palum has been named the company’s chief technology officer. The promotion follows the introduction of the Vnomics True Fuel standalone fuel optimization solution, the company said."As we move forward with True Fuel, Lloyd’s unique talents and expertise are exactly what Vnomics needs,” said Alan Farnsworth, CEO. “With more than 25 years of experience in commercial and government electronics, Palum is the perfect person to lead our world-class team of software platform developers. His expertise in mobile technologies, machine learning analytics and cloud computing are gaining industry recognition for Vnomics as a leader in value-creating transportation analytics.”Palum joined Vnomics in 2013, and, according to the company, his past experience includes a role in the development of secure mobile wireless system design and the implementation of standards-based embedded software systems for condition-based maintenance. “It is an exciting time in the development of connected trucking technology,” Palum said. “Cost effective embedded and cloud computing, along with mobile data, is a powerful combination in improving fleets’ operations. Vnomics has been effectively delivering value in fuel optimization systems and is looking forward to continued growth in a variety of analytics applications focused on improving driver and vehicle performance.”
