HELP Inc., the non-profit public/private partnership providing electronic screening and weigh station bypass through its PrePass solution, announced that there are now more than 500,000 trucks enrolled in the program.
According to HELP, 41,000 fleets are participating in the program, which offers the chance to bypass weigh stations and ports of entry in 31 states to carriers with good safety records and all necessary credentials.
“As of March 1, 504,169 trucks from 49 states, the District of Columbia and eight Canadian provinces were enrolled in PrePass,” said Karen Rasmussen, HELP Inc. president and CEO. “Safe carriers and our public sector partners know HELP uses only the most complete, most accurate data to electronically screen and qualify carriers before they are authorized for bypass at PrePass-equipped sites,” she said. “We expect continued growth both in the number of fleets and enrolled trucks, and in the number of PrePass-equipped weigh stations throughout the country.”
Currently, 310 weigh stations and ports of entry utilize PrePass for bypassing safe trucks. New sites are under development in several states, including California, Delaware, Iowa, Michigan, Oklahoma and Wyoming.
