To demonstrate the potential for in-vehicle satellite antennas to provide the next level of “connectedness” for cars and trucks, Kymeta Corporation and Intelsat S.A. put a Toyota 4Runner on a 20,000 mile road trip across the U.S. this year; a light truck equipped with prototype mTenna technology embedded into its roof so it would automatically acquire and track Intelsat Ku-band satellite signals while on the move or parked in remote locations.
