Navman Wireless releases apps to improve driver efficiency, safety

April 30, 2015

Navman Wireless recently released Drive, a suite of applications built to enhance driver efficiency, productivity and safety, the company said. The app suite combines fleet management, communication, navigation, dispatching, and documentation systems into one driver interface.

"Fleets expose themselves to risk and inefficiencies with distracted driving, manual paperwork, and untimely exchanges of job site information," said Sid Nair, director of group marketing and product management. "Businesses need a single platform to get real-time updates on daily jobs and driver activity. Drive empowers fleet vehicles to stay connected, focused, on time and safe."

The company said each aspect of the suite and its applications was designed to boost efficiency for drivers on the road, as well as managers in the back office. Navman Wireless Drive app suite features include: clear navigation and routing; voice-activated and voice-guided navigation; two-way communication; paperless, customizable forms; instant signature capture; engine monitoring system; and trucking attributes.

The app suite is hosted on a 6-inch, Garmin-supported MNav-950 in-vehicle display that integrates with the Navman Wireless OnlineAVL2 platform, the company said.

"Garmin was a natural fit for our specific needs," Nair said. "As a global leader in telematics, it was important for us to integrate with the best GPS navigation hardware provider available on the market. Navman Wireless needed a partner that would provide not only a strong platform for our product, today, but would also be able to accommodate the growth we have planned for tomorrow."
