Queclink introduces new asset and cargo tracking solution

Queclink Wireless Solutions, a provider of IoT devices and hardware, has launched an asset and cargo monitoring tool for the logistics and material handling marketplace. The robust and compact Bluetooth beacon features advanced tracking, easy installation, and a long-life battery, making it ideal for a wide range of management and security applications within transportation and warehouse operations.

“Our latest Bluetooth beacon provides a highly accurate and flexible solution that delivers real-time visibility of assets within the warehouse and distribution environment,” said Chris Diaz, director of business development at Queclink Wireless Solutions. “These advanced tracking capabilities will allow logistics businesses to target improved inventory management, increased equipment utilization, and added protection against theft.”

Possessing a transmission range of up to 100 meters, the Bluetooth beacon uses BLE 5.2 technology to connect with Queclink’s tracking units. The device is almost 30% slimmer and 25% lighter than the company’s previous solution, with a number of installation options and configurable tracking frequency to meet monitoring requirements and maximize battery life. The IP67 waterproof rating also ensures it can operate in the harshest environments and weather conditions.

“Our longstanding expertise in developing advanced tracking and IoT hardware solutions means we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible for the transportation and logistics sectors. Innovation is at the forefront of our business, underpinned by reliable and proven technology that delivers real-world benefits and ROI. As a result, we have continued to experience strong demand for our fleet and video telematics products from both new and existing partners,” Diaz said.

DAT to acquire the Convoy Platform from Flexport

DAT Freight & Analytics has agreed to acquire the Convoy Platform from Flexport, adding automation and digital freight-matching technology to its product portfolio.

The Convoy Platform provides freight brokers with a way to automate virtually every aspect of the freight transaction and connect with trusted trucking companies. It is an ideal complement to DAT One, DAT’s flagship subscription-based load board, where nearly 700,000 loads are posted daily.

“The acquisition of the Convoy Platform demonstrates DAT’s ongoing commitment to enhancing network value for our customers,” said Jeff Clementz, DAT president and CEO. “Together, we will give customers a better, broader freight-matching network, the ability to manage more loads and capture incrementally more business, and ultimately more choice.”

Flexport acquired the Convoy Platform and related intellectual property in October 2023 and launched the Convoy Platform as a freight-matching service for all brokers in April 2024, growing the platform with thousands of carriers.

Furthermore, this acquisition will enhance DAT’s team and technology by adding:

  • Experience: The Convoy Platform’s engineers, product experts, and operations professionals will continue to be led by Bill Driegert, who will join DAT’s executive leadership team.
  • Fraud prevention at scale: The Convoy Platform’s proprietary technology uses machine learning and AI models to verify carriers on the network and block malicious actors. With these security features built in, brokers can reduce their risk of fraud and access a trusted network of carrier capacity, all while increasing their efficiency and growing their business.
  • Easy-to-use mobile experience: The Convoy Platform is recognized for carrier satisfaction and usability. Today, nearly 30,000 carriers—primarily owner-operators and small trucking companies—use the app to find loads, manage paperwork, receive payments, and more.
  • Fast, reliable payments: Every carrier on the Convoy Platform is eligible to get paid via QuickPay. It’s easy to use and available on every load on the platform, providing another option for fast payouts to carriers.

DAT will integrate the Convoy Platform into its DAT One product. This will allow brokers to access both automated and hands-on freight-matching options and give carriers a faster, easier way to find quality loads from trusted brokers.

Visa brings Google Pay integration to fleet cards,

Visa recently announced a major advancement for fleet operators. With the addition of Google Pay tokenization and push-to-wallet, Visa addresses the long-standing challenge of fleet data tags being tied solely to the plastic card chip. Now, fleet data tags can be configured by the issuer, fintech, or processor, allowing custom data tags to be provisioned during the tokenization process. Once loaded into Google Pay with these fleet data tags, Visa’s contactless specification helps ensure that token payment data and fleet data tags are transmitted to the point of sale and actioned upon.

“This innovation solves a clear pain point within fleets today and unlocks a host of client benefits, including instant issuance, a more seamless user experience for drivers, and robust controls for fleet managers,” said Parker Patton, head of global fleet and mobility solutions at Visa. “We are thrilled to expand digital wallet support to include Google Pay as part of our commitment to creating better products and user experiences that drive seamless, secure transactions around the globe.”

As one of the initial pilot partners selected by Visa to bring tokenization and mobile wallet support to fleet cards, Highnote, a card-issuing and embedded finance platform, continues to collaborate with Visa to modernize fleet payments through embedded, digital-first experiences.

“At Highnote, we’ve reimagined the fleet card from the ground up, designing for embedded, digital-first experiences that reflect how drivers and fleet managers actually operate today,” said John Macllwaine, CEO at Highnote. “Visa’s expansion of wallet support aligns perfectly with that vision, enabling us to bring the speed, control, and intelligence of modern payments directly into the hands of the people who move the world forward.”
