Trucking Tech Today: Samsara, J. J. Keller, and BeyondTrucks expand fleet technology integrations across trucking
Key takeaways
- Samsara expands pre-installed telematics with International Motors to cut downtime and enable day-one fleet productivity.
- J. J. Keller adds GPS asset tracking to Encompass.
- BeyondTrucks integrates AI dispatch with Isaac Instruments.
International trucks and IC Bus vehicles ship with Samsara telematics pre-installed
Samsara recently expanded its pre-delivery installation (PDI) program through a partnership with International Motors, enabling International trucks and IC Bus vehicles to ship with Samsara hardware already installed. The integration is designed to reduce post-delivery downtime and support “day one” fleet productivity across North America. The program includes pre-installed Vehicle Gateways, dash cams, AI Multicam, external cameras, and synchronized subscription activation at shipment.
“Connectivity isn’t just a feature—it’s the foundation for maximizing uptime and unleashing fleet productivity. By seamlessly integrating Samsara devices into International trucks and IC school buses before they ever leave the factory, we’re raising the bar for reliability, durability, and safety,” said Huber Mastelari, VP of service contracts and connectivity at International. “Our customers aren’t simply receiving a vehicle; they’re gaining a fully connected, intelligent, and data-driven asset ready to deliver exceptional performance from the moment the keys are handed over. This approach ensures fleets are equipped to excel, setting a new industry standard for connectivity and operational excellence.”
The partnership also enables International to streamline ordering and installation through its Truck Specialty Centers and Custom Bus Centers. Samsara and International said the expanded program reduces administrative overhead, standardizes installs, and supports fleets moving toward fully connected, data-driven operations from the moment vehicles are delivered. J. J. Keller launches asset tracking solution for trailers and fleet equipment visibility
J. J. Keller & Associates recently expanded its Encompass Fleet Safety & Compliance Platform with a new asset tracking solution designed to help fleets monitor trailers, equipment, dumpsters, and other mobile assets. The solution uses the J. J. Keller AT100 Asset Tracking Device, a GPS tracker built for long-term use with up to eight years of battery life and motion-based updates. The system integrates into Encompass, allowing users to view asset locations, review movement history, and manage devices within a single platform.
“For many fleets, knowing where vehicles are is only part of the picture because it’s the equipment and assets around them that can be hardest to manage,” said Jason Hartwig, associate director of product management at J. J. Keller. “Our new asset tracking solution helps customers maintain visibility into those assets. This allows them to reduce time spent searching, improve utilization, and keep operations moving.”
The platform also enables configurable tracking settings and is designed to work alongside J. J. Keller’s vehicle telematics solution for combined asset and vehicle visibility. The company said the integrated approach helps fleets improve operational efficiency and centralize compliance and tracking in one system. Read more…
BeyondTrucks integrates AI dispatch system with Isaac Instruments telematics platform
BeyondTrucks recently integrated its AI-powered dispatch planning and transportation management system with Isaac Instruments’ in-cab telematics and ELD platform to better connect planning and execution for complex fleets. The integration provides Isaac Instruments customers with a pre-built API linking in-cab data to BeyondTrucks’ TMS, enabling real-time optimization of schedules, routes, and driver assignments.
"The Isaac-BeyondTrucks integration enables today what was long thought of as the future of transportation management systems," said Hans Galland, CEO of BeyondTrucks. "Basically, the TMS is no longer only the system of record, but also a system of action with AI-enabled decision intelligence. This means fleets can continuously optimize, execute, and re-optimize operations to ensure they are continuously planned and dynamically adjusted."
The companies said the integration helps reduce the gap between optimized plans and real-world execution by feeding live data back into dispatch systems. Isaac Instruments added that the partnership enhances flexibility for carriers with complex operations and supports more efficient driver communication and execution. Read more…
