Grapevine, TX. The NaviGo 5.1 powered by Telogis in-cab navigation will be available beginning this summer on the Mobile Computing Platform 200 and 110 (MCP200 and MCP110), Omnitracs and Telogis said. The companies, which have worked together on complementary services since 2007, announced the new MCP200 and MCP110 features March 23 at the Truckload Carriers Assn.

NaviGo is a real-time, in-cab navigation application that decreases crash risk, lowers fuel costs and improves uptime and customer service by providing truck-specific information on the best routes, Omnitracs and Telelogis said. The NaviGo 5.1 enhancement will expand in-cab navigation capabilities, including:

  •  Driver Alerts, which notifies drivers that they have entered a location identified by the fleet as requiring special attention;
  • Speed Alerts, which offers drivers a pop-up notification when they exceed the posted road speed limits; and
  • Lane Guidance, which provides drivers with more detailed screen visuals of complex highway exits, interchanges and junctions and guidance to help them choose the correct lane.

“With this advanced in-cab navigation offering, drivers will be better equipped to do their job safely and efficiently, while fleet managers can focus on productivity, profitability and driver satisfaction,” said Vikas Jain, vice president of product management and software as a service at Omnitracs

“Our customers’ software needs are constantly evolving, and it is increasingly important that they have access to the most accurate, truck-specific information in order for their drivers to get to where they need to go quickly and efficiently,” said Erin Cave, vice president of Telogis Navigation and Compliance at Telogis.
