Record360 announced the official release of its OFAC and facial recognition security check solution. The new addition to Record360’s software allows rental and leasing firms to “stay compliant with federal law and security procedures while seamlessly moving their customers through the checkout process,” according to the company.
At a time of increased security across the US, trucking rental and leasing firms are being required by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to check customer names against their Specially Designated Nationals List, a list which includes the names of suspected terrorists, drug traffickers and other individuals of special interest. Truck rental and leasing firms that fail to comply are liable for harsh penalties, including 30 years in prison and fines up to $10 million for corporations and $5 million for individuals, the company said. Further, with identity and ID theft running rampant, rental companies across industries are facing greater challenges in verifying that customers are who they say they are, Record360 added.
Shane Skinner, co-founder & CEO of Record360, noted: “At Record360, we’re committed to helping rental and leasing firms safeguard their assets. We’re excited to offer this additional layer of security to our customers so that they can rent their cars, trucks and equipment with complete peace of mind without having to slow down their operations.”
