Truckload carrier Werner Enterprises will deploy Spireon’s FleetLocate Asset & Trailer Intelligence solution, Spireon said. The deployment program includes outfitting all new dry van trailers, as well as an aggressive retrofit program for existing trailers, this year.

Werner’s diversified portfolio of transportation services includes dedicated; medium-to-long-haul, regional and local van; expedited; temperature-controlled; and flatbed services. The company’s fleet consists of more than 7,000 tractors and nearly 24,000 trailers, which are predominantly dry van trailers.

“Our mission is to deliver value to our customers, business partners and shareholders by providing leading-edge, global supply chain solutions that exceed expectations and promote safety while we remain customer-focused and asset-backed,” said Steve Phillips, senior vice president of fleet resources at Werner Enterprises. “Our decision to partner with Spireon for trailer intelligence solutions supports that mission. During the one-year proof of concept with Spireon, we experienced a superb level of commitment to our needs, from professional services to onboarding support to installation expertise. Spireon really looked at our business and identified ways we could better utilize our fleet and streamline processes to improve our bottom line.”

FleetLocate offers a scalable GPS transportation and logistics solution delivering real-time visibility into a fleet. It is powered by Spireon’s NSpire M2M platform.

According to Spireon, benefits of the system include higher productivity and turns per trailer; automated efficiencies that save time and money and eliminate error; better trailer pool management — ensuring the right trailer is at the right location at the right time; opportunities to capture more revenue; and improved driver satisfaction.

“We are extremely proud to be selected by Werner Enterprises as the asset and trailer intelligence solution of choice,” said Marc Brungger, CEO of Spireon. “Our one-year proof of concept with Werner demonstrated that Spireon not only has the innovative solutions, but also the customer service and implementation capabilities to help Tier 1 customers streamline their processes and grow their business.”
