A provider of used truck warranties says it will begin next month offering an emissions component warranty for heavy-duty trucks and tractors that will cover diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and exhaust gas recirculating (EGR) valves.
“We spent a good amount of time researching these components and developed a program to protect the buyer from the devastating consequences that a failure of one of these parts can have on the buyer of a used truck,” said Larry Palkins, national sales director for Premium 2000+.
The emissions coverage will be available for all Class 8 trucks and tractors starting Sept. 1 and will be sold separately as options to existing aftermarket warranty programs, according to Premium 200+.
The company also announced that it would introduce a towing option for its warranties on Sept. 1.
