To raise awareness and support individuals with chronic health conditions or special needs, the Walmart Private Fleet has adorned a 53-ft. dry van with pictures of “Honorary Private Fleet Drivers” as part of its Walmart Heart program. This program encourages Walmart drivers to partner with children (or adults) with chronic medical conditions or other special needs. Under the tagline “Helping people live better,” the trailer travels to events around the country in support of the program while maintaining the company's brand awareness.

“Driver participation in this program is voluntary and the drivers are not paid for their time,” says Gary Darnell, communications manager-transportation.

All the pictures on the trailer were taken by Walmart drivers. The colors, logo and tagline are all within the new Walmart brand. On the rear doors, the lone picture is of a five-year-old boy who was the program's first recipient. The trailer was unveiled at his 17th birthday.

“The Walmart trailer is a great awareness tool for the program and becomes a centerpiece around which to stage the rest of the honoree's event,” explains Darnell.

Each recipient is also being given a 1:64 scale model of the trailer.
