CLEVELAND—Wex launched a new capability within its Wex EV At-Home offering, designed to bring greater control, accuracy, and confidence to fleet electrification. Unveiled at the NAFA Institute & Expo here, EV At-Home with Vehicle Fraud Protection addresses one of the fastest-growing challenges for businesses with EVs, ensuring accurate and secure reimbursement for at-home charging.
As more businesses adopt EVs, fleet managers are increasingly burdened by fragmented systems, manual reimbursement processes, and limited visibility into charging activity. EV At-Home with Vehicle Fraud Protection solves this problem by verifying charging sessions using a combination of vehicle, charger, and utility data, giving businesses a simple way to help ensure they are only paying for legitimate fleet usage.
By comparing vehicle data with submitted home charging sessions, Wex enables fleet operators to identify and help prevent unauthorized or personal charging expenses before reimbursement occurs.
“Home charging is one of the largest visibility gaps in fleet electrification today,” Sarah Booth, senior director, Connected Fleet at Wex, said. “With EV At-Home with Vehicle Fraud Protection, we’re giving businesses a way to trust what they’re paying for without adding friction for drivers or extra work for their teams.”
Broader ecosystem
The new capability is part of Wex’s broader EV ecosystem, which allows businesses to manage fuel and electric charging through a single account, invoice, and set of controls. EV At-Home with Vehicle Fraud Protection allows fleets to take advantage of typically lower residential energy costs while maintaining strong protections against spend leakage, helping improve cash flow, reduce surprises, and support more predictable budgeting.
The new offering is designed to be another element in Wex's built-in risk management and compliance offering, with automated vehicle verification and clear transaction visibility that eliminates the need for manual audits or chasing receipts. Fleet managers can view verification statuses directly within Wex Online, enabling faster decision-making and greater confidence in every reimbursement.
The solution is designed for ease of use, requiring no complex workflows or retraining for drivers. Through the Wex dashboard, fleets can connect vehicles and begin verifying home charging sessions, with support for a growing number of leading automotive brands through Wex’s integration partners.
“Fleets don’t just need access to EV charging, they need accountability,” Booth said. “This solution brings together the data, controls, and simplicity required to scale EV adoption with confidence.”
EV At-Home with Vehicle Fraud Protection is available now as part of Wex EV At-Home solutions.
